You play as Alex Corvin , a paranormal investigator who enters the Blackwood Manor, a location where twelve people have vanished over the last century. Your goal appears simple: find the source of the "Eternal Echo"—a frequency that causes living beings to experience their worst fears as reality.
The game's title is a double entendre. The "Nightmaretaker" refers to the entity running the manor, a being that harvests fear like a farmer harvests wheat. You are both the prey and the harvest.
