Download the file from the official Pioneer support site (model VSX-934). Step 2: Extract the .zip file. Look for a file named VSX934_R136_1025_2140_0010.fw (or similar). Step 3: Copy the .fw file directly to the root of the USB drive. (Do not put it in a folder). Step 4: Turn the receiver Off (Standby mode). Step 5: Insert the USB into the port labeled "Update/Service" on the back panel. Step 6: Press and hold the “Main” button (on the front panel) and then press “Power” (Standby/On). Keep holding until "FL CLR" or "UPDATE" appears on the display. Step 7: Select "USB Storage" using the front dial. Step 8: Let it run. It will take roughly 15-20 minutes. The fans will spin up and down. Do NOT touch anything. That is hardware-based relay engineering, not a software bug
If you are running firmware R136-1010 or older, you are essentially using a prototype. Update to R136-1025-2140-0010 immediately.
