Nulled: Mybb Themes

A gaming forum admin downloaded a "nulled MyBB theme" from a popular torrent site. Three weeks later, the admin woke up to find their entire website replaced with a single message: "Your database has been encrypted. Pay 0.5 Bitcoin to recover it." Because the nulled theme contained a backdoor, the attacker had uploaded a ransomware script to the server. The admin had no recent backups and lost three years of community history.
