For many, the gym is a site of shame—a place to burn off yesterday’s dinner or punish yourself for a "lazy" week. This mentality is unsustainable. Eventually, you will quit because no one can sustain self-punishment forever.

Body positivity in wellness means extending the same grace to yourself that you would give a best friend. It means acknowledging that stress, grief, menopause, hormonal cycles, and disability all affect your capacity—and that does not make you "unwell."

The goal is to cultivate a relationship with food. Food is not a reward or a punishment. It is fuel, culture, comfort, and pleasure—often all at once.

A body-positive approach to nutrition strips away the morality and focuses on addition, not subtraction.
